In the near future I'm going to try something new and very creative! This idea was inspired by one of our favorite comic book artist who also does something similar on a daily basis with his sketches! Granted, he has a rather large fan base being a comic book artist. lol
Most know that I love painting large. However, every now and then I put on my reading glasses, pick up my small paint brushes and create miniature paintings. One painting I just love creating is called an ACEO: "Art Cards, Editions and Originals." The rule for an ACEO is they must be 2.5x3.5 inches but may be created using any medium. Hmmm I wonder if that includes something edible like chocolate?!
Another popular size that I like to work with is a 5x7 on watercolor paper. (see image)
How this works: I will start off by posting one painting a month. Usually an ACEO will sell for 25.00 and a 5x7 for 45.00 (unframed), but instead of selling them at retail I will offer the piece of the month for half price. Here is the catch, you will need to send me an email with the name of the painting in the subject line. At the end of the month, I choose a name and they will be the new owner of the current work available! If this goes over well, I may add a larger painting every now and then.
Now in order to make this work I will need to generate interest! That is where you come in. If you could please pass this on to anyone you know who may be intertested I would be very greatful!
